Locate your accommodation before choosing a transfer
The best transfer depends on your accommodation address. A hotel near Xàtiva, an El Carmen apartment and a Cabanyal room involve different arrivals. Save the full address and mark the nearest station or stop: El Carmen may involve pedestrian streets, while the coast may need an onward tram or bus. Include that last stage with luggage when comparing options.
Compare journeys from the moment you leave the terminal, rather than touchdown. Disembarkation, baggage and possible checks use time. For late arrivals, prepare an alternative in case your preferred public transport has finished.
Metro: lines 3 and 5 from Aeroport
Aeroport station is within the terminal building, and lines 3 and 5 connect with the city. Follow the metro signs and buy a ticket explicitly covering Aeroport: a pass for urban journeys does not automatically include this trip. At the machine, check origin, zones, passenger count and whether a rechargeable card is included in the charge.
Xàtiva is a useful reference for Estació del Nord and the Town Hall square area; Colón serves the shopping district and part of the Ensanche. Line 5 may avoid a change for accommodation towards Marítim, but check the train's destination display. The lines share part of their route before separating, so boarding the first train without looking can create an unnecessary transfer.
Keep your ticket until you leave the transport premises and follow the required validation process. If you need a lift, check its availability before travelling. Do not read “twenty minutes” as time to your hotel: train time excludes waiting, ticket purchase and the final walk.
Bus 150: an alternative depending on your address
Aena lists metropolitan line 150 as linking the airport with Valencia through Manises, Quart de Poblet and Mislata. It is a Metrobús service, separate from EMT's red city buses. It may work well if a stop is closer to your accommodation, but compare the complete journey and consult the operator's timetable for your date and direction.
Do not accidentally apply a metro timetable to the bus, or assume all-night operation. Check the terminal stop, vehicle destination and accepted ticket. Save the operator's link for the return: stops in opposite directions are not always directly across the road.
Taxis and booked transfers: compare the whole journey
A taxi from the official rank can be practical with several bags, a late arrival or an address awkward to reach by public transport. The fare depends on the applicable tariff and supplements; we do not quote a fixed amount that could be mistaken for an offer. When comparing with the metro, multiply the individual fare by your whole group and add any required ticket cards.
For an advance transfer, check the meeting point, flight tracking, included waiting time and arrangements for child seats or oversized luggage. “Private” does not establish these services. Knowing whom to contact after a flight delay matters more than a vague promise of speed.
Cards: avoid paying twice for the same trip
The 24-, 48- and 72-hour Valencia Tourist Cards include transport, subject to their current coverage and conditions; the seven-day card without transport is different. If you already hold a valid card covering the airport, do not automatically buy another single ticket. If collection requires an office visit, check where and when you can obtain the physical card before relying on it.
Separate airport transfers, city travel and admissions when assessing value. Three nights away do not mean a 72-hour card covers every return: write down activation time and your final journey. Our card comparison explains how to calculate around your itinerary.
Plan the return before your final morning
Prepare the return with three details: your airline's required airport arrival time, the journey from your accommodation and a connection earlier than the last possible one. For an early flight, check that date's first service. Save a taxi or transfer alternative too. If a final walk fits, keep it near the accommodation so you can collect luggage and leave as planned.
Frequently asked questions
Which metro lines serve the airport?
Metrovalencia lines 3 and 5 serve Aeroport. Check the train destination and choose a ticket covering that station.
Which stop serves Estació del Nord?
Xàtiva is the reference for the Estació del Nord area. Then check the right exit and the walk to your address.
Is bus 150 an EMT bus?
No. It is a metropolitan Metrobús route with its own timetable, stops and accepted tickets.
Does every city travel pass include Aeroport?
No. Check the ticket's zone coverage and explicit inclusion of Aeroport; validity elsewhere in Valencia is insufficient.
Does the seven-day Tourist Card include the transfer?
The product described as seven days without transport does not. Distinguish it from the 24-, 48- and 72-hour transport cards.
Can I rely on the metro after a night flight?
Check your date's service and when you expect to leave the terminal. Do not assume continuous overnight operation; prepare another option.
